April Rain Song Poem

By April 8, 2015No Comments

rainIt’s not raining now, but it will be again soon enough. I never complain about April rain, knowing how dry it usually is by August. Every drop matters.

The most popular blog post I’ve written was about rain. It wasn’t because of anything I said. It showed up when people searched for a picture of rain. Imagine that. Thousands and thousands of people every day looking for a picture of rain.

Here’s a rain poem for Day 8 of National Poetry Month.

April Rain Song Poem, by Langston Hughes

Let the rain kiss you
Let the rain beat upon your head with silver liquid drops
Let the rain sing you a lullaby
The rain makes still pools on the sidewalk
The rain makes running pools in the gutter
The rain plays a little sleep song on our roof at night
And I love the rain.
